James Lee “Jim” Casey, age 79, of Harrisburg, passed away at 1:40 p.m., Monday, October 19, 2015, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Jim was born on December 5, 1935, in Tunnell Hill to the late Richard Randolph and Edith Marie (Burton) Casey. On November 11, 1955 he married Sue Abbott and she preceded him death on July 23, 2013. Jim was the owner of Casey Signs and was an avid Hunter and Fisherman.
Survivors include his son: Scott Casey of Evansville, IN; two grandchildren: Candice Casey of Harrisburg and Craig (Jessica) Richards of Belle Rive, IL; three great-grandchildren: Skye Casey of Harrisburg, Alye Mae of Harrisburg and Barrett Richards of Belle Rive, IL; two sisters: Mary Ellen Davis of West Virginia and Liz Leber of Harrisburg; two brothers: Bill (Katherine) Casey of Bastrop, TX and John Casey of St. Louis, MO.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sue, son, Kent Casey, granddaughter, Mary Ellen Bratko, two brothers, George Casey and Terry Casey, and one sister, Edith Marie.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2015, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2015. Pastor Howard Stearns, Rex Godber and Pastor Darrell Eisenhauer will officiate. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery in Creal Springs.
