Ralph Lynn Richardson – Obituary

Richadson 4 001Ralph Lynn Richardson, age 61 years, a resident of Vienna, IL, passed away Monday afternoon, June 29, 2015, at 1:48 p.m. at his residence, the Glen Brook Home, in Vienna.

Ralph was born February 1, 1954 in Aurora, Illinois, where he spent the first 19 years of his life.  He was the son of Harvey F. and Helen L. (Hester) Richardson.

Ralph is survived by: his sister –April (Albert) Burgess of Vienna; his brother- Harvey Lee Richardson of Ina; nieces – Tanya Sue Martin and Patricia L. Spence; a nephew – Justin W. Burgess; as well as great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many dear friends, including his Glen Brook and J.C.D.T. families.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by a niece – Peggy Lee Richardson and an infant nephew – Mark A. Burgess.

Ralph was a graduate of the Hope D. Wall School in Aurora.  He had been a client of the Johnson County Developmental Training Center in Vienna for many years.  Ralph enjoyed sweeping and vacuuming as well as shredding books and magazines and taking out the trash. Ralph enjoyed all of the activities of the J.C.D.T. center.  He attended the Faith Harvest Assembly Church.

Ralph was an avid professional wresting fan.  At various times, his favorites wrestlers included – Hulk Hogan, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Andre The Giant, and the Undertaker.  Ralph also loved music and dancing, animals, bowling, playing basketball, fishing, making plastic canvas craft items, coloring, and riding his trike.  Ralph had participated in many Special Olympic events and won numerous medals.  When asked what his favorites things to eat were, Ralph would always respond, “cheeseburger, fries and pop.”

Ralph was much beloved and will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning, July 3, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.  Burial will be in the Gilead Cemetery, near Simpson.

Visitation will be conducted from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home.
