Mary Alice Rainbolt – Obituary

Mary RainboltMary Alice Rainbolt, 95, passed away Wednesday (April 29, 2015) at Miller Health Care in Kankakee.

She was born March 18, 1920 in Vienna, the daughter of Noah and Sarah Fairless.  Mary married Fred Rainbolt on May 27, 2937 in Vienna and they moved to Kankakee.  Upon retirement in 1986, Fred and Mary moved to Lake Worth, FL.  They spent their retirement years working on crafts and attending craft shows.   Mary returned to the Kankakee area upon Fred’s death in 2002.  She enjoyed crafting, playing bingo and going on trips.  She was active in the local senior activity groups.  She attended the First Baptist Church in Manteno and especially enjoyed her senior citizen class and going to lunch after church.

Surviving are five children;  Jerry (Joyce) of Auburn, CA, Larry of Park Hills, MO, Donna Brown of Bourbonnais,

Marla Tatman of Lake Worth, FL, and Deb Massey (Todd) of Gilbert, AZ.  Mary had nine grandchildren; Randy Brown of Kankakee, Steve (Becky) Rainbolt of Roanoke, TX, Ken Rainbolt, San Jose, CA, Richard Brown of Oak Lawn, IL, Ross (Trish) Shearer of Lake Worth, FL, Tim Brown of Bourbonnais, Jason Rainbolt of St. Louis, MO, Teri (Dennis) Mann of Herscher, IL and Scott Stacey) Shearer of Pt. St. Lucie, FL; eight great-  grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; two sisters,  Verla Kerley of Vienna and Lola Mae Boyd of Indianapolis, IN and many nieces and nephews.

Preceeding her death were her parents, one daughter Mary Susan Shearer Neal, three brothers Dale, Curtis and Hoover and two sisters, Gale Harner and Betty Jean Zeigler and one great grandson Spencer Rainbolt.

A memorial service will be held on June 13, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Taylor United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the River Valley Special Recreation Assoc, 1335 E. Broadwa.y, Bradley, IL 60915.
