Leslie Kim Smith was born on September 15, 1954 in Fort Worth Texas. He was 60 years old. Kim was preceded in death by his father – Lester “Icky” Smith, his mother – Shirley June Bess and his brother – Kevin Leon Kerley.
Kim left behind many people that loved him, including – his children – Lisa Yavonne Taylor and Joey Taylor of San Antonio, Texas; Amy Cochran of Steeleville; Joey and Stacy Smith of Dongola; and Lindsey Kaye Smith of Bell City, Missouri; a sister – Jana Joiner of Vienna; a sister & brother-in-law – Gina & Rick Staton of Vienna; a niece – Tasha Taylor of Makanda; nephews – Brandon and Clayton Spurlock and Mason Kerley all of Vienna.
Kim had eight grandkids: Tytan, Carmin, Isabella, Tobie, Jasmine, Tyson, Jasmine and Jackie; a great niece – Abigail Thorn; a great nephew – Henry Spurlock; aunts – Helen Dunn of Vienna and Linda Hale of Texas; a very special friend – Sherry Reighard of Vienna; and a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Kim enjoyed fishing, ginseng digging, flint knapping, shooting pool, playing the guitar and writing music, drinking coffee, spending time with family and friends.
Kim was a certified mechanic and also an iron worker. Kim always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 12 Noon at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Brother Randy Wheaton will officiate. Burial will be in the Jonesboro City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM – 12 Noon Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
Memorial contributions may be left in care of Bailey Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
