James Dennis Muck, age 55 years, a resident of Salem and a former resident of Tunnel Hill, passed away Wednesday evening, May 6, 2015, at 9:10 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, Illinois.
Dennis was born June 18, 1959 in Centralia, Washington. He was the son of Stanley and June (Gifford) Clark. From the age of 3 years, Dennis was raised by his adoptive parents, Donald and Catherine (Walkington) Muck.
Dennis was united in marriage to Samantha (nee Long). She survives.
Additionally, Dennis is survived by: his mother – Catherine Muck of Tunnel Hill; his children – Derrick Muck of Rantoul, Joseph Muck of Johnston City, Daniel Muck of Salem, James Dennis Muck, Jr. and Kaitlin Muck both of Marion, Blake Alan Muck and Savannah Muck both of Flora; his stepchildren – Shawn Walls of Decatur, Winona Long of Ramsey and Dakota Long of Valier; 2 granddaughters – Jaydan Muck and Chloe Muck; his adoptive sister – Patricia Sue Muck; a twin sister – Sarah; and 2 brothers – Benny and Carl.
In addition to his biological parents and adoptive father, Dennis was preceded in death by a brother – Leroy; and 2 sisters – Marie and Ella.
Dennis was a 1977 graduate of Vienna High School. He then served in the United States Air Force. Dennis was self-employed as an over-the-road truck driver.
He enjoyed the beauties of nature and animals and passed many quiet hours pursuing his hobby of woodworking.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday afternoon, May 9, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Reynoldsburg Cemetery near Tunnel Hill. Pastor Rocio Reyes Williams will officiate. Military honors will be accorded.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon – 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
