Myrtle Thomas Easter – Obituary

Myrtle Thomas Easter, age 94, of Grand Chain, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Myrtle was united in marriage to Troy Easter on December 9, 1940.  Myrtle and Troy owned and operated Riverview Campground for many years.  She was a member of the Ohio Chapel Church, the Pulaski – Alexander County HCE and the Fellowship of Christian Woman.  Myrtle taught Sunday School for many years and had also been a Cub Scout Leader.

She is survived by two daughters, Nita and husband, Lyndell Hubbard, of Grand Chain, IL, Pat Adams of Belleville, IL ; one grandson, David and wife, Kara Hubbard, of Grand Chain; two granddaughters, Julie Oliver of Grand Chain, Joan and husband, Brad Stipp, of Mahomet, IL; one great grandson, Andrew Hubbard; eight great granddaughters, Britany, Morgan, Natalie and Jacqueline Hubbard, Hannah and Sophia Oliver, Sarah and Lauren Stipp; one great great granddaughter, Claira Hubbard; grandson by affection, Mitch and wife, Erin Rogers, of Springfield, IL; great grandchildren, Kaleb, Katie, Kiara and Larry Rogers.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Easter (October 7, 1995); parents, William and Sarah Peterson Thomas; one son, Rodger Bruce Easter; one sister, Edith Minton; two brothers, Howard and Harold Thomas; one grandson, Doug Adams; one son-in-law, Bruce Adams.

Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Easter will be at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Ohio Chapel Church.  Pastors Tammy Horn, Scott Harner and Steve Heisner will be officiating.  Interment will follow in the Ohio Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 till 8 Saturday evening at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak and Sunday morning at 10 until the funeral hour of 11a.m. at the church.  Pallbearers will be Brad Stipp, David Hubbard, Andrew Hubbard, Lyndell Hubbard, Mitch Rogers and Jason Hilldebrand.  To leave a on-line message for the family, please visit our website at www.wilsonfuneralhome1928.com
