Shirley Ann Mahan – Obituary

Shirley Ann Mahan, age 68 years, a resident of Harrisburg and a former resident of Cypress, passed away Monday evening, March 2, 2015, at 10 p.m. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Shirley was born March 2, 1947 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Cairo. She was the daughter of Harry and Velma (Welch) Mahan.

Survivors include: an uncle, Stanford Welch of Brookport; cousins, Donna West of Cypress, Robert Mosely of Colorado, Nancy Norlin of Jackson, Missouri, Meachelle Hoffman of Dongola, Michael Mosley of Oregon, Jim Welch of Brookport, Steve Welch of Brookport and Brenda Trujillo of Colorado; along with a host of great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents as well as aunts and uncles.

Shirley was a graduate of the West Frankfort High School.  She had worked as a custodian at the Jackson County Sheltered Workshop.

Shirley was of the Christian faith and had attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna. She had an extensive stuffed animal collection, which she dearly loved, as well as a Hallmark ornament collection.  Shirley was a “camera buff” and loved to take pictures.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.  Burial will be in the Cypress Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be conducted Saturday morning from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
