Bob Street, age 80 years, a resident of rural Grantsburg, Illinois, passed away Tuesday morning, March 17, 2015, at 6 a.m. at his home.
Bob was born March 18, 1934 in the Flatwoods community in Pope County Illinois. He was the son of Arthur Street and Minnie (Baity) Street.
Bob was united in marriage to Gladys M. Murrie on February 14, 1955 in Mound City, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include: his children- Nancy Sue Wilson of Rockford, Cheryl A. Griffin of Plano, Rodney A. (Carol) Street of Vienna and Gary T. Street of East Dubuque; 7 grandchildren- Gary Paul Street, Karen Street, Shawn Wilson, Melissa Frisk, Aaron LeBleu, Jacqui LeBleu; 8 great grandchildren- Brandon Frisk, Jacob Frisk, Logan Frisk, Christina Street, Jackson LeBleu, Victoria LeBleu, Hunter A. Street and Reuben J. Street; 5 brothers- Arthur “Jr.” (Doris) Street of the New Columbia community, Norman Street of Arizona, Harold (Mary) Street of Vienna, James (Marlene) Street of Vienna and Dee (Linda) Street of Harrisburg; a sister-in-law- Virginia Street; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by a brother- Lowell Street; a sister-in-law- Lillian Street
Bob had worked as a farm laborer and later as a farm supervisor for 30 years at the Mooseheart Child City & School at Mooseheart, IL.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Illinois Rifle Association and the Illinois Sheriff’s Association. Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and gardening. Bob raised an abundance of garden produce which her shared with many friends and neighbors.
A Graveside Service will be conducted Sunday afternoon, March 22, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Murrie Family Cemetery, east of Vienna. Those attending the service are asked to gather at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
There will be no public visitation.
