William Andrew Corzine, known as Winnie, passed from this life at 12:00 midnight, Monday, February 9, 2015, at his home. He was born on April 26, 1923 to Garvin and Ethel Waltman Corzine, and lived 91 years.
He was a faithful Christian for 58 years, and loved his Lord, his family, and his church, the First Pentecostal Church of Karnak, Illinois, with all of his heart. He was also a US Army Veteran of World War II, serving in Alaska and Japan. Winnie had retired from Trunkline Gas Company in Joppa having worked there 27 years.
His life was blessed; with his wife of 65 years, Maxine, they were united in marriage on September 3, 1949, his daughter, Tammy and Alan Harris of Central City, KY; grandsons, Ryan and Shontae Harris of Danville, IL, Tyler and Kayla Harris of London, KY, and his great grandchildren, Jentezen, Madison, Judah, Weston, and Easton. He loved his brother, Jerry and Geneva Corzine, and his sisters, Lorene and Huck Barham, Geraldine Corzine, his sister-in-law, Velma Corzine, and a “like-a-sister”, Laura Sykes. He has been reunited with his parents, Garvin and Ethel Corzine, his brother, Ted Corzine, and sisters Eileen Alfter and Louise Owens.
Funeral services for Mr. William Andrew Corzine will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the First Pentecostal Church in Karnak. Bro. Lonnie Adams and Bro. J.R. Wood will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Cypress with full Military Honors accorded by the Illinois National Guard Funeral Detail Team and the Beggs-Gurley VFW Post #5222 in Vienna. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 till 8 at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak and Thursday morning from 9 until the funeral hour of 11 at the Church.
