Bryan Throgmorton, of Vienna, disembarked this week to begin his year long adventure serving and spreading the word of God throughout 11 different countries with The World Race Missions Organization.
Throgmorton, who attended a week long training session in October, began his final training in Atlanta on Tuesday, before leaving the country. Since October he has been fundraising for the trip with support of numerous Johnson County residents.
“The support from the community has been overwhelming.” Throgmorton said.
“It was great to see so many family, friends and community members before I begin this adventure Christ has called me to. I’m asking that everyone please remember myself, my ministry team and my entire squad in prayer as we travel the globe spreading the Good News and love of Christ!”
While gone, Throgmorton will be serving in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Swaziland, Botswana and South Africa. Each stop will last for approximately four weeks.
Since 2006 The World Race has been sending teams of young adults across the globe sharing the gospel and building ministries around the world.
Throgmorton is looking forward to the adventures he will have in the next 11 months and hopes to keep the community updated. You can follow his journey at bryanthrogmorton.theworldrace.org and on Facebook.
