Trover named communications director for Gov. Bruce Rauner

troverVienna native and VHS class of ‘98 graduate Lance Trover has been appointed communications director for Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner.

The appointment was made Saturday, prior to Rauner’s inauguration held Monday.

Trover served as senior communications adviser for Citizens for Rauner, Inc. He also was a former communications director for U.S. Senator Mark Kirk, he supervised media relations with local and national press during the Highland Park Republican’s successful return to Congress following a debilitating stroke. In 2012, Lance served as Deputy Communications Director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Additionally, Trover directed communications for Kirk for Senate, and the Illinois Republican Party.

Trover is a graduate of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, where he earned both a bachelor’s and law degree.

Lance is the son of Bob and Marleis Trover and Jane and Mike Kluge.
