Congressmen to visit Dixon Springs Friday afternoon

U.S. Congressmen John Shimkus, Mike Bost and Rodney Davis are scheduled to be at the Dixon Springs Agricultural Center Friday afternoon, Jan. 30, at 1:30 p.m. to give an update on the U.S. Farm Bill and other legislative issues.

Dixon Springs Agricultural Center is located at 354 State Highway 145 North, near Simpson and the Johnson-Pope County line.

The three congressmen will begin their joint visit to the region Friday morning at Benton at 10:30 a.m., to participate in a ceremonial swearing in for members representing the Southern District of Illinois, U.S. District Court.

From Dixon Springs, Shimkus will visit the Amercian Legion Post 306 at Metropolis to present military awards to Gary Hines and on behalf of his deceased father and father-in-law.
