Albert W. Altenberger, age 93, of Karnak, IL, passed away at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, January 20, 2015 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna. Albert was born November 16, 1921 to Ira and Edith Reynolds Altenberger. He served in the US Army during World War II. Albert had worked at Main Brothers Box and Lumber Company in Karnak, IL, and was a Pentecostal Preacher for over fifty years. He enjoyed reading the Holy Bible, gardening and fishing. He was married to Imogene Snyder Altenberger.
Albert is survived by his son, Wes and wife Sharon Altenberger of Karnak; two grandsons, Greg and wife Cyndia Altenberger, Marty and wife Angie Altenberger; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Lynn Altenberger; one sister-in-law, Linda Altenberger.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Snyder Altenberger; parents, Ira and Edith Reynolds Altenberger; two brothers, Kenneth and Vernon Altenberger; one sister, Audrey Warwick.
Private family graveside services for Mr. Albert W. Altenberger will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Anderson Cemetery in Boaz. Danny Carter will be the speaker.
