Mary Ellen Klaver, age 48, a resident of rural Grantsburg, passed away Thursday morning at 1:48 AM, December 18, 2014, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky. Mary was born November 10, 1966 in Cook County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Frank William Brown and Bernice Moore Brown.
Mary was united in marriage to David Klaver on December 16, 1984 in Wheeling, Illinois and enjoyed years of marriage before her passing, he survives.
In addition to her husband survivors include: her mother – Bernice Moore Rothlisberger of Decatur, Alabama; and 2 sons – Michael David (Jennifer) Klaver of Raleigh, North Carolina; Joesph James Klaver and Melinda Beggs of Grantsburg, Illinois.
In addition to her father, Mary was preceded in death by: a son – Daniel William Klaver; and 2 brothers – William Brown and James Brown.
Mary worked for a number of years as a retail manager of Sears Roebuck and Company while living in Decatur, Alabama.
Mary was a member of the Lutheran Faith. However, she was most remembered for her devotion to her family and for her love of reading. She also enjoyed different aspects of Social Media, playing problem solving games on the computer; as well as Scrabble and Sudoku.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 1 PM (EST) in the chapel of Watts Funeral Home in Jackson, Kentucky. Dan B. White officiated and burial followed in the Hughes & White Family Cemetery, River Caney, Kentucky.
Visitation was conducted Sunday, December 21, 2014, from 11 AM – 1 PM at Watts Funeral Home.
