Helen Heisner Hubbard, age 94, of Grand Chain, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at her home.
Helen was a member of the First Congregational Church in Grand Chain; she was a past Worthy Matron for the Grand Chain Order of Eastern Star #710. Helen had worked for Lauderdales Florist in Metropolis for many years and also Huebotters Store in Grand Chain. Helen loved arranging flowers and gardening. She and her husband, Jake Hubbard, were united in Marriage in 1941.
She is survived by one son, Lyndell and wife, Nita Hubbard of Grand Chain; one daughter-in-law, Linda Hubbard of Phillipsburg, NJ; three brothers, Carl and wife, Viola Heisner of Grand Chain, Robert and wife, Anna Lee Heisner of Grand Chain, Raymond Heisner of Indianola, IO; one grandson, David and wife, Kara Hubbard of Grand Chain; four Granddaughters, Julie Oliver of Grand Chain, Anna and Susan Hubbard of Phillipsburg, NJ, Rebecca Batchelder of Houston, TX; one grandson by affection, Mitchell Rogers of Springfield, IL; three great grandsons; eight great granddaughters; one great great granddaughter.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Hubbard; one son, Robert Hubbard; one grandson, Timothy Robert Hubbard; parents, Jacob and Anna Rae Heisner; two sisters, Vera Brown and Ella Badgley; one brother, Russel Heisner.
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Heisner Hubbard will be at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. Rev. Steve Heisner will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic Cemetery in Grand Chain. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5 till 8 and Sunday morning from 9 until the funeral hour of 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
