A fire Friday night, July 18, completely destroyed a two-home in Southern Johnson County. About all that remained Saturday morning was a pile smoldering ashes.
According to Belknap Fire Chief Darrell Ballard, the Belknap Fire Department responded at 8:45 p.m. to the home of Louie and Theresa Smith, located at 2160 West Eden Road, near Belknap.
Vienna, Goreville, Karnak and Massac County fire departments also responded to assist.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. The State Fire Marshall was called to investigate.
Firefighters were on the scene until midnight.
