Blanche Jones Watson went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, July 13, 2014. She passed peacefully at her home in Vienna, IL. Blanche lived her life serving the Lord and was rewarded with 97 years on this earth. Blanche was a loving wife and mother who raised her children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. She was intelligent and intuitive understanding the modern world and teaching her children valuable lessons for their future. Her loved ones have many wonderful memories of her to sustain them in the coming days and years.
Blanche is survived by: four children; Bob Watson, Grand Chain, IL; Don Watson and wife Kathy, Ottumwa, IA; Pat Duncan, Vienna, IL; Brenda Whittenberg and husband Tom, Buncombe, IL. Eight grandsons; Kim Watson, Paris Watson, Jim Watson, Mike Duncan, Brian Watson, Keith Duncan, Joseph Duncan, and Jonathan Whittenberg. Four great-grandchildren; Nathan Watson, Laura Stodgill, Tim Watson, Jennifer Watson, Adreanna Duncan and Emily Duncan. Four great-great-grandchildren; Makenzie, Madison, Andrew and Brooklyn. One sister Joyce Choate, Metropolis, IL, one sister-in-law Barbara Jones, Golconda, IL and many nephews and nieces.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Arlie Watson, an infant son Jackie, and seven siblings.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 12 noon at Independence Cemetery in Pope County, Illinois. Blanche’s nephew, Brother Hillis Jones will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
