Suzanne Harper Gamster, age 64 years, a resident of Marion, Illinois, passed away Saturday morning, June 14, 2014, at her home in Islamorada, Florida.
Suzanne was born May 22, 1950 in Cairo, Illinois. She was the daughter of Norman and Carmen E. (Campbell) Harper.
Suzanne was united in marriage to Scott Gamster in 1968 in Paducah, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2010.
Suzanne is survived by: her son & daughter-in-law – Grantland Scott and Lindsay Nicole Gamster of Tunnel Hill; 4 grandsons – Grantland Gage Gamster, Broderick Scott Gamster, Anthony Titan Nemecek, and Harper Sky Gamster; her father & stepmother – Norman and Helen Harper of Vienna; a brother and sister-in-law – Paul & Melinda Harper of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska; a niece – Audrey Brooke Harper; a nephew – Zachary Paul Harper; her aunt – Marie Wallace of Jackson, TN; a host of cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her mother and her husband.
Suzanne received a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Southeast Missouri University. She was an educator and had taught primarily in the Marion, Herrin, and Carterville school systems.
Suzanne attended the Reynoldsburg Church near Tunnel Hill.
Suzanne is remembered for her fun-loving and entertaining personality. She was an elegant and regal lady.
A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, June 21, 2014, at 11:30 AM at the Reynoldsburg Church. Rev. Pete Vinson will officiate. Private interment will be in the Woodside Cemetery near Tunnel Hill.
Visitation will be from 6 PM – 8 PM Friday, June 20, 2014, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
Memorials may be made to the Reynoldsburg Church and mailed in care of Bob Harper, 30 Harpertown Lane, Tunnel Hill, IL 62972.
