Judge Williamson elected chief judge

Judge James Williamson2The Circuit Judges of the First Judicial Circuit have elected a new chief judge, effective May 9, 2014.

Johnson County Presiding Circuit Judge James Williamson was elected to fill the post after his predecessor, Circuit Judge Mark H. Clarke, announced he would not seek another term as Chief Judge.

Judge Williamson is in his thirty-sixth year of service as Circuit Judge.

The First Judicial Circuit includes the counties of Alexander, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union and Williamson.
