Rhudell I. “Rhudy” Williams (nee Cooper), 90, a resident of Naperville, IL, formerly of Chicago, IL, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Meadowbrook Manor in Naperville. She was born March 5, 1924 in Vienna, IL.
Beloved mother of Rhonda (Ed ) Duffy of Naperville, Debbie Williams of Bolingbrook, IL and Scott (Marie) Williams of Green Bay, WI, adored grandmother of Jake and Nick Williams, devoted daughter of the late Hallie and Clara (nee Lehman) Cooper, dear sister of Betty (the late Mac) Golec of Worth, IL, fond aunt and great-aunt of several, former spouse of the late Don Williams.
Rhudy grew up on a farm in Vienna, IL, and later moved to Chicago where she worked in accounting and later as a hostess for many Chicago area restaurants, including Miller’s Steakhouse in Chicago and Elliott’s Pine Log Restaurant in Lincolnwood, IL. She was a member of the Church of St. Benedict in Bolingbrook and the Order of the Eastern Star. Rhudy loved to dance, play cards and was known for her playful nature. She will be remembered for her big blue eyes and for being a “great mom.”
