Darlene Burgandine, 58, a resident of Vienna, IL, passed away Wednesday morning, February 26, 2014 at 6:55 a.m. at her home.
Darlene was born February 11, 1956 in Irwin, Illinois. She was the daughter of James R. & Jane (Jennings) Morris.
Darlene was united in marriage to Bill Burgandine on January 7, 1989 in Warren, Ohio and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Darlene is survived by: her mother – Jane Gallaway of Paducah, KY; her children – Shawn & Angie Harmon, Josh & Augusta Harmon, Bill & Heather Burgandine, and Jon & Amy Burgandine all of Vienna; 9 grandchildren – Cheyenne, Mikey, Alia, William, Tyler, Isabella, Kaiden, Karma, and Bentley; and a brother – William & Tammy Morris of Hardin, KY.
In addition to her father, Darlene was preceded in death by: 3 brothers – Richard Morris, James Daniel Morris, and Robert Joel Morris.
Darlene had been employed as an in-home caregiver. She also worked for 11 ½ years as a residential technician for Johnson County Family Counseling, primarily working at the Heritage House group home.
Darlene was a member of the Gilead Church near Simpson. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and was especially fond of the Gaither Homecoming series and had a personal copy of almost each of the videos in the series. Darlene also enjoyed drinking a good glass of iced tea. She especially cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday evening, March 4, 2014, at 6 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Junior Martin will officiate
Visitation will be conducted from 4 – 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
