2014 Homecoming was truly a fun week. January 13-17 was the craziest week of the year for VHS students and teachers: Homecoming Week. With rivalry in mind, each class tried their hardest to win each activity and dress according to each day.
Monday was Class Color Day. Freshmen wore green, sophomores wore pink, juniors wore red and seniors wore black. Some students went wild with their colors, dressing head to toe according to their class. At the end of the day, the seniors had the biggest percentage of classmates that dressed in black. They were followed by the juniors, sophomores and freshmen respectfully.
Tuesday was Crazy Day, and there were quite a few students in various classes that went above and beyond. Everyone pulled off their insanity quite well and there were high percentages that day. Seniors had the highest, followed by the juniors, sophomores, then freshmen.
The first lunch activity was on Tuesday, and it was an obstacle course. The seniors placed first, sophomores came in second, the juniors took third, followed by the freshmen.
Wednesday was Career Day. Many nurses and fishermen were spotted throughout the school. The lunch activity was a survivor game. The juniors won that round, followed by the sophomores, then the freshmen, and the seniors surprisingly came in last.
The seniors again had the highest dress percentage, followed by the juniors, sophomores and then the freshmen.
Thursday was Superhero Day, and Superman made a lot of appearances at VHS along with Batman. The lunch activity was four corner volleyball, and the seniors snagged first place by one point. The sophomore class took second, the juniors placed third, and the freshmen forth. For dress, the seniors came in first, then the juniors, the freshmen, and the sophomores.
Friday was School Spirit Day. Everyone was decked out in VHS garb. The lip syncs and were on Friday. Many laughs were shared as students from each grade made a fool out of themselves. The seniors won the lip syncs of 2014, the sophomores came in second, freshmen placed third, and the juniors lost.
The lunch activity on Friday was tug-of-war, and the juniors showed true muscle when they came in first. The seniors placed second, the sophomores got third and the freshmen came in last.
