Linda (Marshall) Riepshoff, age 58 years, a resident of Goreville, Illinois, passed away Friday evening, November 29, 2013, at 11:41 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Linda was born November 14, 1955 in East Prairie, Missouri. She was the daughter of Eddie & Bernice (Newberry) Marshall.
Linda is survived by: her daughters – Angela (Steve) Benard and Shannon (Bart) Pulliam all of Goreville, IL; 5 grandchildren – Tori and Katie Benard and Owen, Jeremiah, and Jake Pulliam; 3 sisters – Joyce (John) Stewart of Marion, IL, Glenda (Jerry) Williams of Carterville, IL, and Denise (Ken) Crews of Goreville, IL; and 2 brothers – Jim (Evelyn) Marshall of Riverside, CA and Gene (Diane) Marshall of Zap, ND. Linda is also survived by Jerry Riepshoff of Goreville, IL along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, many dear friends and her beloved dog Roxy.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Marshall and Bernice Marshall Stockton, as well as a brother, Jerry Marshall, and a sister, Carolyn Reighard.
She was a 1973 graduate of Vienna High School and received her training as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Shawnee Community College at Ullin. Linda had worked in the health care field as a nurse.
Linda had a love of plants and gardening. She especially enjoyed raising irises. She was devoted to her family and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Linda also loved to take ocean cruises.
Linda was of the Christian faith.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, December 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
