Phyllis Perry, 77, a resident of Vienna, Illinois, passed away Monday evening, November 18, 2013, at 7:44 PM at Herrin Hospital.
Phyllis was born September 17, 1936 in Tunnel Hill, Illinois. She was the daughter of John O. & Anna E. (Dunn) Hill.
Phyllis was united in marriage to Kenneth F. Johnson. He preceded her in death. Phyllis was later united in marriage to Joe C. Perry. He survives.
She is also survived by a daughter, Karen Johnson of Buncombe, Illinois; a son, Steve Perry of Vienna, Illinois; 3 grandchildren – William Burke, Jr., Brittany Perry, and Kyle Perry; a brother, John R. (Sheri) Hill of Tunnel Hill, Illinois and a sister, Fern (Dale) Coonce of Tunnel Hill, Illinois; as well as nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was employed as a sewing machine operator at the former Good Luck Glove Factory in Vienna. She then worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aid (CNA) for approximately 20 years at the Creal Springs Nursing Home.
Phyllis was an avid shopper and she especially enjoyed attending rummage sales.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 12 Noon at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Pete Vinson will officiate. Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery, near Tunnel Hill. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 12 noon Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
