The annual “Meet the Eagles” program was held last Friday night at Vienna High School. This year’s dance team, cheerleaders, pep club, mascots and the boys and girls basketball teams were all introduced. The dance team and cheerleaders put on performances and the boys and girls basketball JV and varsity squads held brief scrimmages.
The Lady Eagles tipped off their season this week at the Marion Invitational Tournament which began on Monday. Vienna’s remaining tourney games are: Thursday (Nov. 21) vs. Herrin at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday vs. Benton at 10 a.m.
The boy’s team is set to play Century on Monday (Nov. 25) at 7:45 p.m. in the opening round of the Vienna Classic Tournament. The Eagles then play Meridian on Wednesday at 7:45 p.m., Massac County on Friday at 7:45 p.m., Carrier Mills on Saturday at 6:15 p.m.
