What’s Flying At VHS

EAGLE2By Markayla Johnson

As always many things are going on at Vienna High School. As some sports wind down, others start winding up for their upcoming seasons.

The girls volleyball team’s season came to an end with a loss to Hamilton County. The senior volleyball girls were honored before their last varsity match as an Eagle. Senior Maranda Chance said, “I’ve had a great four seasons of volleyball and I’ve made many great memories with my teammates!”

VHS Beta Club prepared for Halloween by painting pumpkins after school on Oct. 24. Once the Betas finished painting their masterpieces they delivered them to the residents of Autumn Ridge to spread the cheerful fall spirit with the community that lives there.

Junior Garrett Mott traveled to Bloomington, for the Class A Boys Golf State Championship and placed 58th out of 112 other high school boys. Even though Garrett was the only VHS member to qualify, other VHS varsity golfers went to cheer him on during one of the two days of the tournament. We are proud of Garrett!

VHS Scholar Bowl Team members dusted off the buzzers as they started to prepare for their upcoming season. The team’s first practice was held on Oct. 23. Senior Breanna Abner joined the scholar bowl team this year and commented, “I’m stoked to be on the team and I can’t wait to see how it all turns out!” VHS wishes good luck to all of the Scholar Bowl team members this season!

Once again the V-G Football team advanced to the play-offs! The Eagles won victoriously over the Christopher Bearcats with a score of 23-7. The date for play-offs has not been announced at this time.
