Kenneth A. Zolper – Obituary

Kenneth A. Zolper, age 59 years, a resident of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at 12:50 p.m. at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Kenneth was born May 31, 1954 in Oregon, Illinois. He was the son of Richard O. Zolper & Eleanor L. (Eddy) Zolper.

Kenneth was united in marriage to Jennifer (Barton) on August 6, 1983 in San Diego, California.

Survivors include – His wife Jennifer Zolper, a son Richard R. Zolper, and a brother James Zolper.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his stepmother Louise (Hight) Zolper.

Kenneth was a graduate of the former Coleman Technical College in San Diego, California where he had studied computer programming. Kenneth had many interests and enjoyed a number of hobbies. As a youth, Kenneth developed a lifelong love of photography. He and his father operated a photography business from their home and even installed a darkroom so Kenneth could develop their photographs in-house. He later served as a production lab manager for several major photography studios. Kenneth was also was a trained locksmith.

He had a great love of nature and the outdoors. Kenneth had a passion for farming, gardening and wildlife. He especially enjoyed bird watching, maintaining bird feeders, and photographing many varieties of native birds, including cardinals, blue jays, and hummingbirds.

Kenneth is remembered for his love of cooking and he served as the official family “Grill-Master.” He was a very talented “Handy-Man” and could fix and repair just about anything set in front of him.

Tentative arrangements are for a graveside service to be conducted at the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery on Tuesday, August 6th. Completed arrangements will be posted when they become available at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
