Joyce Elliston Faulkner – Obituary

Joyce Elliston Faulkner, age 75 years, a former resident of Vienna, Illinois, passed away Monday evening, July 22, 2013, at 11:20 PM at the Union County Hospital in Anna, Illinois.

Joyce was born October 3, 1937 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. She was the daughter of Walter & Mildred (Phillips) Elliston.

Joyce was united in marriage to Charles Faulkner on November 13, 1975. He survives.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a Brother – Earl Ray Elliston as well as an infant brother – Phillip Neal Elliston.

Joyce was a graduate of the McLeansboro High School. Together, Joyce & Charles operated a concrete lawn ornament business at West Vienna. Joyce was also a talented floral designer.

In their retirement, Joyce & Charles enjoyed “snow birding” in Okeechobee, Florida, where they were members of Oak View Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Joyce had a deep love of Gospel music and was a talented pianist.

In accordance with Joyce’s wishes, there will be a musical tribute in celebration of her life Friday morning, July 26, 2013, at 11 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
Burial will be in the Boyd Cemetery near Dix, Illinois.

Visitation will be from 9:30 AM – 11 AM Friday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children, 2001 S. Lindbergh Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63131-3597 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
