Charles L. Deaton – Obituary

Charles L. Deaton, 80, a resident of the Tunnel Hill community, passed away Saturday morning, June 15, 2013, at 12:00 AM at his home.

Charles was born August 12, 1932 near Stonefort, Illinois. He was the son of William H. and Lillie Mae (nee Deaton) Deaton.

Charles was united in marriage to Roma J. (Ross) Deaton on July 5, 1952 in Piggott, Arkansas. She survives.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by:
4 Brothers – Vernell, Lavern, Gene, & Noel Deaton
2 Sisters – Helen Graves & Mary Bohne

Charles was employed as a maintenance worker by the Illinois Department of Transportation. He retired in approx. 1997.

Charles was a member of the Reynoldsburg Church, where he served as a deacon. Charles loved music and was gifted in his ability to play any stringed instrument.

A graveside service will be conducted Monday morning, June 17, 2013, at 11 AM at Reynoldsburg Cemetery. Pastor Shorty Alsip will officiate.

There will be no public visitation. Those attending the service are asked to gather at the cemetery at 10:45 AM Monday.
