Roy “Neal” Ford, 63, of Karnak, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday morning, May 26, 2013 at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.
Neal was retired from Harrahs Casino in Metropolis; he had also worked at the Coke Bottling Company in Paducah for many years. Neal had served as a coach for the Karnak Khoury League for many years, he had also been a volunteer firefighter for the Karnak Fire Department. Neal was presently serving on the Village Board in Karnak. He was of the Baptist Faith. Neal was a member of the Western United Cherokee. Neal was loved by his mother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Caraker Ford of Karnak; three sons, Tim and Stephanie Ford of Metropolis, Shawn Ford and Ben Ford both of Metropolis; two step daughters, Tina Abate of Sikeston, MO, Tara and Chuck Burns of Belknap; one stepson, Justin Meyer of Chicago; one brother, Steve Ford of Metropolis; one sister, Shirley Anderson of Karnak; twenty grand children.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Printha Davis Ford.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. Rev. Gerell Cain will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Belknap. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 12:00 p.m. There will be a private visitation for the family from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
