Marjorie Darlene Mason, 74, a resident of Simpson and a former resident of Vienna, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Marjorie was born December 4, 1938. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Helen Montgomery.

Douglas (Debbie) Mason of Herrin, IL
Cheryl Thompson of Simpson, IL
Denise (Johnny) Treat of Belknap, IL
Donna Jo (Joel) Colston of Mayfield, KY
David (Julie) Mason of Cairo, IL
20 Grandchildren, including three grandsons, Trey, Charlie & Brett, who Marjorie helped to raise.

Marjorie was anticipating the birth of a great grandson, Dillinger, in June 2013 and a great granddaughter, Jai’Nyah, in July 2013

Marjorie was an honorably discharged U.S. Navy veteran. She had served at the Pentagon. Following her discharge, Marjorie was a full-time mother and homemaker. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed woodworking, cooking and baking. Marjorie was a member of the Church Without Walls in Herrin, Illinois. She had a true heart for deployed active duty military personnel and prayed for them daily.
Marjorie loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Todd Greiner will officiate. Burial will be in the Herrin City Cemetery.
Military graveside rites will be accorded.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon – 2 PM Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
