Anna Bess “Annie” Morgan, 69, a resident of rural Vienna, Illinois, passed away Saturday morning, May 11, 2013, at 5:24 AM at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Annie was born July 11, 1943 in Carbondale, Illinois. She was the daughter of James Keaton Kann & Marjorie Anna (Snow) Kann.
Annie was united in marriage to John E. Morgan on July 16, 1983 at the Vienna First United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1999.

A Nephew – Shawn, and 2 Nieces – Allyson and Erin
Annie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Annie was a graduate of the Clearwater, FL High School. She also attended Southern Illinois University. Annie was the former owner and operator of the Village Flower Shoppe in Vienna for over 10 years. She also had been employed as a field assessor by the office Johnson County Supervisor of Assessments. She was an Illinois licensed real estate appraiser and operated Morgan appraisal service until 2010. Annie had also been a Texas licensed real estate agent for Precision Homes, Inc.
Annie was very civic and community minded. She was a former officer of the Johnson County Chamber of Commerce and had served on the Board of Rural Health, Inc. Additionally, Annie had been very active in Republican politics, serving as the chair of the Johnson County Republican Central Committee and was a member of the Johnson County Republican Women’s Club.
Annie was a member of the Vienna First United Methodist Church. She is remembered for her zest for life and love of laughter. Annie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also pursued a wide variety of hobbies and interest throughout her life, including horseback riding, reading, camping, traveling, cooking, and making handcrafted crochet items.
Funeral services will be held Thursday evening, May 16, 2013, at 7 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Bill Gholson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4 PM – 7 PM Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
