Martha Jane Hill, 88, of Bridgeport, Texas and formerly of Johnson County, Illinois, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Senior Care in Bridgeport.
She was born on July 21, 1924, in Ozark, the daughter of Dewey Parker and Lola Stone Parker.
She was united in marriage to Sherman Whiteside. He preceded her in death. She was later united in marriage to Robert C. Hill. He also preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, Sue (Dr. David) Ray of Bridgeport, Texas; two sons, Jerry (Katrina) Whiteside of Indianapolis, Ind. and Robert Allen (Mary Ann) Hill of Lockport; two stepdaughters, Greta (Ed) Chitwood of St. Louis, Mo. and Gloria (Homer) Baker of Vienna; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Icy Taylor of Peoria and Ethel (Wayne) Odun of Vienna; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Whiteside.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, John F. Whiteside.
She was employed as a postmistress by the U.S. Postal Service.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning, April 6, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Pete Vinson will officiate. Burial will be in the Whiteside Cemetery near Vienna.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
