Flora Alice Gould, 93, a resident of Marion, passed away Sunday evening, March 31, 2013, at 8:30 p.m. at her home.
She was born November 11, 1919, in Johnson County, Illinois, the daughter of Claude G. Gould and Bessie Fairless Gould.
She is survived by nieces, Judith A. Moore of Brewton, Ala., Delores (Danny) Ramsey of Mt. Vernon and Sandra Gould of Vienna; three great nieces along with their children, as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Gould, as well as two infant brothers.
She lived most of her adult life in Chicago. She was a graduate of John Marshall Law School. Following her retirement from the legal profession Alice retired to Marion.
Alice was a devoted member of the Marion Church of Christ.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday afternoon, April 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Brother Bill Brandstatter will officiate.
In accordance with Alice’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Those attending the service are asked to gather at the cemetery at approximately 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The preferred form of remembrance would be memorials to Hospice of Southern Illinois, 204 Halfway Road, Marion, IL 62959 or to the Alice Gould Scholarship Fund, c/o Freed-Hardeman University, 158 East Main St., Henderson, TN 38340.
