The Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) recently took place in schools across the state. Students in grades 3-8 at Vienna Grade School completed ISAT March 6 through March 15.
In order to help students perform well, the Vienna Grade School PTO supplied an on-the-go breakfast of juice and snacks for all students testing.
This is the second consecutive year that the snacks have been provided through the PTO’s donations.
The snacks and juice were assembled each day by the cafeteria staff at VGS.
Student helpers distributed the snacks each day before testing to all homerooms in grades 3-8.
Studies have shown that eating breakfast is directly related to a student’s ability to stay focused and avoid distraction. The students of VGS agree with this, and say the breakfast tasted really good, too.
The students and teachers would like to thank the PTO for the breakfast each day and would also like to thank the cafeteria staff of Kay Farris, Vicki Ross, Jody Stafford, and Janet Williams for assembling the packages each day.
