Marian Agnes (Lasee) Jennings, 82, passed away at 2:00 a.m. Thursday March 7, 2013 at her home in Metropolis. Marian was born January 7, 1931, in Catawba, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Anna (Elsasser) Lasee.
Marian was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and spoiling her family with many homemade pastries, pies and donuts.
Marian grew up on a dairy farm in Catawba, Wisconsin and was a member of the Sacred Heart Rector. She married Walter Jennings on October 25, 1952 and together they shared 52 years of marriage and had six children. Her surviving children are Deanna West, Wayne Jennings and wife Kathy, Denise Schaffer and husband Alan, Brenda Graves, Janet Ulrich and husband Don, and Julie Cabot. Additional survivors include Marian’s brother Edward Lasee and wife Lila, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Graveside services will be held at the Masonic Cemetery, Cypress, IL, Saturday morning, March 9, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. Father Michael C. Mujule will officiate.
There will be no public visitation. Those attending the service are asked to gather at the cemetery at 10:15 a.m. Saturday.
