Shawnee Pride Concert at SCC

GG40_VT38-ShawneePride_concert2Johnson County Junior High School band members joined students from throughout the Shawnee Community College district to perform in the Ninth Annual Shawnee Pride Concert held in the Edward M. Smith Center last week.

The Shawnee Community College Concert Band served as host and as student mentors for the more than 200 district junior high students. Students were chosen by their respective schools to participate in the program with John Windings, SCC music director, directing the performance.

The concert included the pieces, “Party Rock Anthem;” “Eyes Open;” “Rolling In The Deep;” and “Forget You.”

Johnson County Junior High Schools participating included Buncombe, Cypress, Goreville, New Simpson Hill and Vienna.

Performing from Buncombe:

Katelyn Knaak, Michaela McHugh, Jordon Oliver, Sarah Penrod, Kyle Shipley, Tiffany Stevens and Mason Warren with band director Rebecca Yates.

Performing from Cypress:

Halli Brown, Dalton Browning, Alex Bullock, Jessica Cook, Christina Funk, Cati Green, Jesse Harris, Savana Hinkle, Brey Kreutzer, Brett Osman, Chase Osman, Madie Pendrod Brandt Ramsey, Journey Womack and Bradley West with band director Dustin Newbold.

Performing from Goreville:

Kristi Brown, Mario Carillo, Kelsey Daniels, Christian Davis, Chance Duringer, Savannah Duringer, Hallie Greenfell, Matthew Hackman, Colton Harner, Theodore Hess, Ryan Holland, Sarah Holland, Mark Nighswander, Sydney Ross, Zane Schuetz, Sydney Shelton and Breanna Stout with band director Barb Smith.

Performing from New Simpson Hill:

Courtney Craig, Layton Edmonds, Rachael Gilbert, Ashleigh Hart, Miranda Mathis, Emily Scruggs, Kayci Tanner and Rebecca Walker with band director Brian Plate.

Performing from Vienna:

Grace Breeden, Tim Conley, Steven Eldridge, Reagan Graves, Wyatt Graves, Noah Haney, Brayden Hill, Sam Hirsch, Jered Huckleberry, Lucas Jones, Abby Montgomery, Lakin Reed, Amelia Rogers, McKenzie Smith, Asa Sparks and Clayton West with band director Laura Clark.

Johnson County Junior High Schools joined Anna, Cobden, Dongola, Egyptian, Massac, Meridian, Metropolis and Shawnee Junior Highs in their performances.
