June Coltharp, age 75 years, a resident of Vienna, Illinois, and a former resident of Cuba, Kentucky, passed away Saturday evening, February 23, 2013, at 7:50 PM at Baptist Health Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
June was born June 9, 1937 in Mayfield, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Ruthford Preston and Lela Irene (Crittenden) Bivens.
June was united in marriage to Larry Allen Coltharp on January 21, 1956 in Pilot Oak, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1995.
June is survived by her children – Rick (Julie) Coltharp of Owensboro, KY, Michael (Terri) Coltharp of Sun City, CZ and Teresa Rood of Metropolis, IL.
Seven grandchildren – Matthew Vestal Coltharp, Jeremy Allen Coltharp, Amanda Marie Widowski, Megan Isabel Yeager, Mitchell Scott Coltharp, Marissa River Rood and Corey Sky Rood and five great grandchildren.
Two sisters – Anna Cooper of Lynn Grove, KY and Bobbie Williams of Sedalia, KY. A sister-in-law – Donna Bivens of Pilot Oak, KY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
June was also anticipating the birth of a great grandchild in October 2013.
In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Bivens.
June was a 1955 graduate of Cuba High School in Cuba, Kentucky. She had been employed as a retail sales manager by Robinson-May Department Store in Cerritos, California. Locally, she had worked as a homemaker for the Shawnee Development Council and Addus HomeCare Services.
June was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vienna and was formerly a member of the Lynnville, Kentucky Baptist Church.
In her spare time, June enjoyed making crochet handcrafted items. She is remembered for her willingness to always share her opinion and for her love for her family and friends. June especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at 1 PM at Jackson Funeral Home, 3600 State Line Road, Dukedom, TN. Pastor Ronald Cruse will officiate. Interment will be in the Pilot Oak Cemetery at Pilot Oak, Kentucky.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2013, from 5 PM – 8 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, Illinois and from 5 PM – 9 PM Tuesday, Feburary 26, 2013, at Jackson Funeral Home in Dukedom, TN.
