Wisconsin woman injured on i-24

I-24-crash-Wisconsin-ladyA Wisconsin woman sustained serious injuries Sunday evening, December 23, when she crashed this Trail Blazer on Interstate 24 in Johnson County. Illinois State Police at Ullin are investigating the cause of the crash that happened at approximately 8:45 p.m. at mile marker nine. Thelma McRae, 60, of Milwaukee, was traveling eastbound at the time of the accident. She lost control of the vehicle, crossed the medium and struck a guardrail on the westbound side, causing the SUV to overturn into a wooded area. She was transported by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

The Vienna Fire Department was called to extricate McRae from the vehicle. Johnson County Ambulance Service and Sheriff’s Department also responded.
