Wanda Fern Gulley – Obituary

Wanda Fern Gulley, 83, a resident of Vienna and a former resident of the Cypress community, passed away Friday morning, December 28, 2012, at 1 a.m. at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

Wanda Fern was born September 3, 1929 near Cypress, Illinois. She was the daughter of Melvin & Dorothy Genevieve (Dorsett) Moake.

Wanda Fern was united in marriage to Louis I. “Pete” Gulley, Jr. on January 25, 1947 in Ullin, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2006.

Survivors include her children: Brenda Farris of Vienna, IL; Dean and Nita Gulley, of Vienna, IL; and Terry Gulley of Buncombe, IL.
Grandchildren: Todd and Sarah Farris of Mt. Pulaski, IL; Tara Thompson of Vienna, IL; Jon Gulley of Vienna, IL; and Jeremy and Karon Gulley of Vienna, IL; a granddaughter-in-law, Dawn Farris of Ava, IL.
Great Grandchildren: Tanner, Sydney, Luke and Kendall.
Two sisters: Melva Adams of Indianpolis, IN; and Sandy and Bob Richardson of Cypress, IL.
Three brothers – Shirley and Thelma Moake of Cypress, IL; Frank and Rita Moake of Cypress, IL; and Ed and Tammy Moake of Cypress, IL.
Nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives & many dear friends.

In addition to her Parents and Husband, Wanda Fern was preceded in death by: a grandson, Matt Farris and a sister, Viola Mae Moake.

Wanda Fern was a homemaker. She had been employed as a restaurant cook and had worked at the former P.D. Lentz Grocery in Cypress. She attended the Cypress Methodist Church and enjoyed making ceramic craft items. Also, Wanda Fern and Pete loved camping.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 31, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Jeff Van Cleve will officiate. Burial will be in the Cypress Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
