Sara A. Gibson – Obituary

Sara A. Gibson, 66, a resident of Vienna, IL, passed away Thursday morning December 20, 2012 at 8:49 AM at her daughter Lisa Taylor’s home.

Sara Ann was born November 9, 1946 in Cairo, Illinois. She was the daughter of Jessee Henry Bass and Dorothy Lee (Dowdy) Bass.

Survivors include:
Her children – Lisa Taylor, and her husband Danny, of Vienna, IL
David Sheffer, Jr. and his wife Belinda, of Vienna, IL
LeSara Harris of Ft. Lauderdale, FL
9 Grandchildren
3 Great Grandchildren
A Sister – Linda Jean Adams of Bardwell, KY
Sara Ann was also anticipating the upcoming birth of 2 Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her Parents, Sara Ann was preceded in death by a brother, William Alfred Bass.

Sara Ann had been employed as a restaurant manager. She was also employed for 22 years by the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel newspaper. She worked in the newspaper delivery and sales division until her retirement in 2008.

Sara Ann was of the Baptist faith. She was saved in 1971 at the Caledonia Baptist Church near Olmsted, where she maintained her church membership.
Sara Ann enjoyed technology. She was an avid computer, video game, and television enthusiast. Sara Ann was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. She loved her animals and was devoted to their care. She is remembered by her family as being a hard-working and focused individual. Until 2008, she regularly worked 3 jobs simultaneously. Sara Ann held very strong convictions and was quite opinionated. She enjoyed “being in charge.”

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, December 23, 2012, at 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in the Wickliffe Cemetery at Wickliffe, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 11 AM – 1 PM Sunday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
