Red Hat Society holds silent auction

Red Hat ladies from across the region gathered last week in Vienna to participate in a silent auction of Red Hat Society memorabilia. Hundreds of items, from the collection of the late Queen Mother Betsy Wright, were on the auction tables for the thirty plus attendees to bid on. Auction items included such things as hats, dolls, dishes, crafts and other Red Hat treasures. Wright’s children, Tracy Dalton and Scott Wright, donated the collection to the society. Proceeds in the amount of $340 were given to Vienna First Baptist Church Food Pantry. Vienna Vivacious Red Hat Society members Dolly Hopkins and Barb Jones, pictured above, served as hostesses of the event at Connie’s.
