Michael Ehrstein, 92, of Northfield of Menno Haven, PA, died at 12:10 am on August 12, 2012 at Menno Haven Nursing Center after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Indiana. He was the son of the late Michael V. and Flora Moore Ehrstein. Michael grew up in Southern Illinois before making his way to California. He served in the Army in WWII as a medic. He and his late wife, Virginia, owned and operated a paint store in Los Angelas for many years.
Mr. Ehrstein is survived by one daughter, Mary J. Ehrstein of Ellicott, MD., and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by one daughter, one sister and three brothers.
Graveside Funeral Services with Military Rites will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Masonic Cemetery in Grand Chain. Rev. Alan Milligan will be officiating. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Illinois National Guard Funeral Honors Detail Team of Marion and by local Veterans. Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak is in charge of arrangements.
