Flora Ehrstein Denton Vessell

Flora Ehrstein Denton Vessell, 56, died Monday, August 13, 2012, in St Louis, Mo. She was born October 30, 1955, in St. Louis, Mo.

Flora’s work history included adminstration manager for Valley Mineral Products, St. Louis, Mo.; administration manager for Resco Products, Bonne Terre, Mo,; manager of Shawnee Development, Southern Illinois,; sales representative for Cajun Bag and Supply in Crowley, La.; broker for Edward Jones, Lansdale, Pa.; and owner/Vice President of Vessell Mineral Products Corporation, VMPC Resources, VMPC Development, VMPC Recreational, and Stone Park of Bonne Terre.

Flora was the founder of My Sister’s Place and My Sister’s Place Too in Bonne Terra. She was a member of Bonne Terra Chamber of Commerce, Board member for the SEMO Family Violence Council in Bonne Terra, and a Board Member for the Womens Shelter in Lansdale, Pa.

Flora is survived by her husband, Royce Vessell; stepchildren, Lauren Vessell of Holts Summit, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Dan and Krista (Vessell) O’Brien of St. Louis, Mo., and Chad Vessell of St. Louis, Mo.; nephews Shawn Ehrstein and Michael Ehrstein of Wichita, Ks.; nieces Anita Schwartz, St. Louis, Mo.,  Jesse Holcomb of Desoto, Mo.; cousins Mary Ehrstein of Ellicott City, Md., and Robert Ehrstein of Grand Chain, Il., and numerous relatives and friends, including her USA teammates and international competitors in the “Over The Pond” Ryder Cup golf Competitions.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Blanche Weimer Ehrstein, her brothers, Michael Ehrstein and William Weimer.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Masonic Cemetery in Grand Chain. Rev. Alan Milligan will be officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to My Sister’s Place Too, P.O. Box 420, Bonne Terre, Mo. 63628.
