Sheilah N. Simmons
Age: 69 years
A resident of rural Ozark, Illinois.

Passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at 12:30 PM at her home.

Sheilah was born July 2, 1943.  She was the daughter of Dallas Henry & Leona Holtzclaw.

Sheilah was united in marriage to Gary M. Simmons on December 15, 1962 in Cambria, Illinois.   He survives.

Her Daughter-in-Law – Lisa Simmons
An Infant Brother – Shelby Rae Holtzclaw

Sheilah was a graduate of the Carrier Mills High School.  She also attended Southeastern Illinois College, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree.  Sheila had been employed as a nurse at the Harrisburg Medical Center as well as the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

Sheilah was a member of the Carrier Mills Tabernacle Church, where she had taught children’s Sunday School.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed studying  a variety of topics.  Sheilah is remembered for her happy & jolly demeanor and infectious smile & laugh.  Sheilah also loved to shop.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, August 11, 2012, at 10 AM at the Carrier Mills Tabernacle Church, located on US Rt 45 North, Carrier Mills, IL.   Brother Noel Loyd & Brother Tom Loyd will officiate.

Burial will be on the Simmons Family Farm, located adjacent to the Rushing Cemetery, near Ozark, Illinois.

Visitation will be from 5 PM – 8 PM Friday and from 9 AM – 10 AM Saturday at the Carrier Mills Tabernacle Church.

Memorials may be made to the Carrier Mills Tabernacle Church and may be mailed to 3800 Ozark Road, Ozark, IL 62972.
