2012 Fall Festival to help commemorate Johnson County’s Bicentennial year

The Johnson County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 10th Annual Fall Festival, Thursday through Saturday, October 4-6, 2012 at the Vienna City Park.

In conjuction with the celebration of Johnson County’s 200th birthday, the fall festival and parade with carry a bicentennial theme.

Participants and attendees are encouraged to help  with the bicentennial celebration by dressing in period clothing of years gone by. Vendors are also asked to decorate their booths with the bicentennial theme.

Vendor booth space is now being reserved. To reserve your space, call the chamber at 618-658-2063.

A bicentennial parade is scheduled for Saturday morning. Parade entries are being sought.

Organizers of the fall festival hope, with this being part of the bicentennial celebration, the parade will be one of the biggest in the county’s history. Entries are opened to everyone. Invitations have been sent to schools in surrounding counties that were, at one time, a part of Johnson County.

There will be carnival rides and activities thoughout the three-day celebration.
