Flora Morales-Aguilar, 89, of Cobden, died Sunday morning, June 24, 2012, at 10:40 a.m. at Union County Hospital in Anna.
Flora was born on April 23, 1923, in Ojo de agua de la yerbabuena, Gto, Mexico, the daughter of Herminio Morales and Porfiria Aguilar.
Flora married Ygnacio Amezquita. He preceded her in death in October 1988.
Flora is survived by her children, Jesus Amezquita of Cobden, Pastor Amezquita of Cobden, Teresa Amezquita of Mexico, Salvador Amezquita of Florida, Ysidro Amezquita of Cobden, Trinidad Amezquita of Indiana and Maricela Ruiz of Vienna; 31 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; along with members of the Ruiz family locally in the Vienna area.
In addition to her parents and husband, Flora was preceded in death by two sons, Raymundo Amezquita and Salvador Amezquita.
Flora was a homemaker. She enjoyed flower gardening and many types of handcrafts, including sewing and crochet. Flora especially cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden. Father Uriel Salamanca will officiate.
Interment will be in the Cobden City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, June 29, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. A prayer service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
