Vienna-Goreville stops S-V-W-W for playoff victory

The Vienna-Goreville Eagles defended home turf Saturday defeating Sesser-Valier-Waltonville-Woodlawn 14-6 in its first playoff appearance.  According to the Illinois High School Association’s website, “fourth-seeded Vienna-Goreville (7-3) will travel to top-seeded Greenville, which eliminated No. 8 Anna-Jonesboro,” next in the second round of the Class 3A football playoffs.  Check out this week’s Vienna …

The 12th annual New Simpson Hill Girls Round Robin Tournament was held October 10th through the 13th. Five schools participated in the tournament that included, Cypress/Buncombe, Jefferson, New Simpson Hill, Pope County, and Vienna.
