Christy J. Harner

Christy J. Harner, age 46 years, a resident of rural Goreville, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, April 12, 2018, at 8:50 AM at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Christy was born December 10, 1971 in Marion, Illinois.  She was the daughter of Clyde and Lois (Albright) Brewer.

On February 9, 1991, Christy was united in marriage to Cory Harner at the McKinney Chapel Church.  He survives.

Other survivors include: their 3 sons – Austin Lee Harner, Allen Wayne Harner, and Dalton Clyde Harner all at home; her father – Clyde Brewer of Goreville; 2 brothers – Chris (his wife, Nancy) Brewer and Everett (his wife, Stephanie) Brewer all of Goreville; her father-in-law & mother-in-law – Robert & Theresa Harner of Goreville; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.

Christy was preceded in death by her mother Lois Brewer on February 15, 2018.

Christy was a 1990 graduate of the Goreville High School.  She had also received training as a certified nurse’s aide (C.N.A.) at Shawnee Community College.  Christy had been employed since January 24, 2005 by Aisin Manufacturing in Marion.

She was a member of Faith Harvest Assembly of God Church in Vienna.  Christy loved the outdoors and spending time with her family on the farm.  She also enjoyed camping trips and fishing.

A worship service honoring the life of Christy Harner will be held Tuesday evening, April 17, 2018, at 7 PM at the First Pentecostal Church, 915 North Broadway Street, Goreville, Illinois.  Pastor R.G. Null will officiate with a eulogy to be delivered by Pastor Richard Swiney.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM – 7 PM Tuesday prior to the worship service at the church.

A private graveside service will be held Wednesday morning, April 18, 2018, at 11 AM at McKinney Chapel Cemetery.
