Ervie Kuehling Jr.

Ervie Kuehling Jr., 87, of Goreville, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at his home.

He was born on June 15, 1930 to Ervie and Violet J. (Singer) Kuehling in Wabash County, Illinois.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lois (Rice), father and mother and brothers, LeRoy Don Kuehling and Freddie Ray Kuehling.

He leaves behind a son Richard D. Kuehling and spouse Monica of Azec, NM and daughter Teressa Ann Richey and spouse James of Stafford, VA.  Granddaughters, Amanda & BJ Cogburn of Scottsdale, AZ and Caitlin Kuehling of Aztec, NM and Shelby & Ray O’Brian of Pocahontas, IL.  Also Great grandchildren Allora Rose Cogburn and Richard Blane Cogburn of Scottsdale, AZ. Brother Clarence “Ed” & Patricia Kuehling of Gulfport, MS and a sister Eva Jane & Steve  Smith of Mt. Carmel, IL; several nieces and nephews.

Ervie married Judith L. Smith and his extended family members consist of daughters Angie & James Biggerstaff,  Susan & Randy Aden and Melanie & Greg Belcher, grandchildren Bronson & Heather Biggerstaff,  Brittany Biggerstaff, Aaron Aden, Nathan Belcher, Nichoal and Steven Still and the great  grandchildren, Emma & Leo Belcher, Drake & Jadeyn Biggerstaff, Matthew, Charlie , Kai & Quinten Aden.

Ervie was a life member of the United Missionary Baptist Church of Buncomb where he served the Lord as a ordained deacon.  Ervie retired from the US Air Force as a Senior Master Sargent and from Dowell, a division of Dow Chemical Co. as office supervisor and administrative assistant.  He was a member of the VFW.

Ervie wil be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at United Missionary Baptist Church in Buncombe on Thursday, Jan. 11th at 6:00 PM, fellowship following.  Burial will be in Mound City National Cemetery at Mound City on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:30am with Military Rites being performed.

Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is assisting the family with arrangements.
